On its 19th run, Welding Korea 2020 (Korea International Welding & Cutting Automation Show 2020) will run from Oct. 20 to 23 at Changwon Convention Center (CECO).

This event is the first professional exhibition in Gyeongsangnam-do to be held after the social distancing restrictions were eased during COVID-19.

Hosted by Gyeongsangnam-do and Changwon-si and organized by COEX Changwon Project Group, Korea Industry Intelligentization Association, and Steel Structure Information, this 32-year-old welding and cutting automation specializing businenss exhibition was opened in increasing demand in welding automation and welding robots.

WELDING KOREA is an internationally certified exhibition and also UFI certified which only 6% (930 shows) among 5,000 shows received. The show still holds the certification since 2011.

Gyeongnam Changwon is the hub city of the smart industrial complex and the largest demand for the manufacturing industry where many companies are looking to implement their welding and cutting automation system. Kosys, which specializes in the manufacture of industrial machinery applied to the steel structure field, will bring SCR welding machines, and Worldwel which represents welding automation equipment will participate. IGM Service Korea, a specialist in welding robot, is presenting a one-stop system that can perform grinding with a robot that does not require temporary welding at the show. Also, many welding automation solution companies like Hyundai Robotics, Total Softbank, and QCS also participated, providing various application cases to companies considering the introduction of the welding and cutting process automation line, and direct consulting on the spot. Also, the Gyeongnam Robot Industry Association, which jointly discovers research, products, sales channels, and funds for robot companies in the Gyeongnam region, is working with four major member companies to inform the many support projects.

In WELDING KOREA, various simultaneous events will be held this year to quench the technical and intellectual thirst of welders. On the special stage in the exhibition hall, welding masters from Gyeongnam area are invited to present lectures and welding demonstrations with vivid field know-how in the industrial and plant fields such as GTAW welding, special steel welding, and Co2 welding.

Also, on October 20, the co-organizer the Korea Industry Intelligentization Association will hold a seminar on cases of establishing a smart welding system for digital transformation and how to use government support policies to keep pace with the era of industrial intelligence. The venue will be held in the seminar room 301 right next to the exhibition hall. The next day, on October 21, Super-TIG Welding will introduce its products and technology status. On October 22, the Southeast Branch of the Korean Welding Society invited various scholars in Korea through a seminar on the status of welding technology for eco-friendly parts and materials for the green industry, and presented the status of the welding industry and a new paradigm in line with the Green New Deal policy, presenting the venue for the exchange of information.

WELDING KOREA is also preparing various promotions for the safety and convenience of visitors. First 300 visitor who visit after pre-registration will receive masks a first-come, first-served basis every day. Before the demonstration of master welders on the special stage in the exhibition hall, business card lottery event will be held to give out prizes like electric massage sticks and beer makers. Visitors who wish to see the show can benefit from seeing the exhibition and receiving prizes.

Also, the secretariat is accelerating the preparation of the event by thoroughly complying with the safety rules for COVID-19, and is preparing the event with the safety of visitors as the top priority by running COVID quarantine twice a day and installing air shower booths in the exhibition hall.
