Ambiente 2019 Gears Itself with Digitization to Enliven Consumer Goods Industry

Fast-growing digitization has quickly taken away the marketplace for consumer goods industry these days. In Germany alone, 100,000 retail stores have closed down since 2000. In the effort to support the consumer industry to regain retail power, Ambiente 2019, the major trade show for consumer goods, will gear itself with its own digitization methods and will be held from Feb. 8 to 12.
This year, a whopping 85% of the exhibitors will be coming from outside Germany, and there will be 4,451 exhibitors from 92 countries. Messe Frankfurt, the hosting venue of Ambiente, is taking the action to modernize the exhibitors with new digital projects jointly with nmedia and is planning to develop nextrade, a digital B2B marketplace for the consumer goods industries.
The three major categories of exhibition in Ambiente are themed as Dining, Living, and Giving. Following the last year's networking by 133,582 visitors from 168 countries, Ambiente is anticipating to see more fruitful outcome this year with useful tweaks. It has renovated its layout to make it easier for the visitors to look around. Retailers will have an easier time to find products with the booths designed in concept store style, and they will be able to order the products on the spot.
This year's emphasis and changes in the exhibition is as follows: Within Dining, Houseware & Storage have moved to the new Hall 12. Handmade products have been emphasized with the importance of traditional for India highlighted in the special exhibition Hand Make, in Galleria 1 and handmade products and their production methods have been displayed in an interactive environment in Hall 9.0. Hall 10.1.
For high-end customers who expect more than just products and displays when they shop, a special exhibition has been created to present a walkthrough of customer experience of the future. The latest trends in the consumer industry and shopping will be lectured throughout the show in the Ambiente Academy, located in Hall 9.1, D90. There will also be lectures on ethically manufactured goods, HoReCa (hotels, restaurants and catering) and contract business, and contemporary designs and creations by young and unknown designers. There will be various awards given during the show, including the German Design Award, Kitchen Innovation Award, and Tableware International Awards of Excellence.
From Korea, Ministry of SMEs and Startups and Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development plan to setup K-Startup Pavilion at AMBIENTE 2019 as a part of their Business Start-up Package Support Project. This will aid in providing the participating companies the opportunity to meet foreign buyers from various countries, as well as providing opportunities for global market entry.
